This Friday we celebrate our 8th annual Travis County History Day, on the topic of Folk Art and Travis County's Cultural Heritage. The event will be held on Oct. 16 from 10 am – noon, at 700 Lavaca Street in the Hall of Government and Commissioners Courtroom. The program will begin at 10:30 and will feature special speakers and live music.
The Hall of Government will be transformed into an exhibit space, featuring the collections of the Austin Friends of Folk Art, as well as selections from the collections of area institutions, local artists and collectors, as well as demonstrations. The event is open to all county employees and members of the public, and refreshments will follow the program. We hope you can join us!
