The Austin Archives Bazaar (http://www.austinarchivesbazaar.org/) is a FREE, fun, and engaging event open to the public and appropriate for all ages. At the heart of the event are tables featuring Austin area archives showing off their amazing collections and services in one space, and promoting the diverse cultural heritage resources available to the public in our region. The Austin Archives Bazaar is organized by the Archivists of Central Texas (ACT), a non-profit (501(c)3) group of local professional archivists.
This is the sixth biennial Austin Archives Bazaar, and they just keep getting better! In April 2022 we had:

Join us for Austin ARMA's celebration of RIM month! Alex Webb will present on the fundamentals of Records and Information (RIM) programs. This overview of Records and Information (RIM) offers a refresher on basic concepts what is a record, what types of regulations govern your records, what your responsibilities, and what fundamental concepts (e.g. The Principles, definition of a record, the record life-cycle, Information Governance, Enterprise Content Management, etc.) should you use to build your records program.
Alex Webb
Alexander (Alex) Webb, CRM, IGP, CHP, is a Senior Project Manager and RM/ECRM Consultant for IQBG and has over 14 years of experience in the development and implementation of RM Programs and ECRM systems for local governments. Prior to joining IQBG, Alex was a Senior Business Process Consultant for the City of Austin, Texas where he oversaw the implementation projects of the city-wide ECRM and provided continued life-cycle support of the system. As the Records and Information Management Officer for the Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Alex developed the authority’s new RM Program strategic framework and oversaw the migration of their digital assets to a new ECRM system. In the past Alex has served the Austin Chapter as the Treasurer from 2017 to 2019 and as the Vice-President and Seminar Co-Chair from 2012 to 2015. Alex is a Certified Records Manager (CRM), an Information Governance Professional (IGP), a Certified HIPAA Professional (CHP), and holds a Bachelor of Public Administration from Texas State University.

Finding the Courage to Move Forward: A conversation with Mark Packard regarding his experience of developing a first in class records management program and its eventual demise.
Speaker Bio:
Mark Packard, CRM, OCSA
Mark Packard is a Records & Information Architecture Program Manager at the Lower Colorado River Authority headquartered in Austin, TX where he directs the records management program for one of the company’s business sectors. He is responsible for developing, implementing, and communicating the records management strategy and establishes policies and procedures designed to achieve management and business goals while satisfying audit, legal and regulatory compliance requirements.
Mark has 25+ years of experience in Records & Information Management. He gained this experience in a variety of organizations within the public, financial, and manufacturing industries.
Mark earned a B.S. in Business Management & Marketing from Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin and has obtained the Certified Records Manager designation from ICRM. Mark served on the Board of Directors for ARMA Milwaukee and AIIM Wisconsin. In addition, Mark is an OnBase Certified System Administrator and served 8 years in the U.S. Navy.
