Kathleen Glasgow Sparks, CRM, or ‘Kathy’ as her colleagues know her, has been in Records and Information Management for about 42 years. In 2012 she became the first recipient of the Alan Andolsen Award by the ICRM recognizing her contribution and mentoring of CRM candidates in two countries and over the course of 30+ years.
Currently she is the Records Retention Director for Tyson Foods, Inc. Her responsibilities include development of policy and procedures for the RIM program.
She leads the Records Management staff of twelve. Her team is involved in the retention decisions as SAP data is archived, when system applications are decommissioned. They also establish retention requirements as new systems are designed and participate in numerous electronic data management initiatives. She also oversees the inactive paper records storage operations.
Outside of the office, Kathy’s community activities include volunteering with the Ozark Folkways, a nonprofit guild of artists. For fun, Kathy and friends enjoy hiking in the Ozarks and, most recently, over 380 miles in the south of France.
