The November Austin ARMA meeting will be held November 19, 2024 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This hybrid in-person/virtual* meeting is free for chapter members and only $5 for guests. Lunch will be provided, or you can bring your own.
Topic: The Intersection of Information Governance and Records Management
We'll discuss how to plan and complete a records inventory, safely dispose of records that have met retention, and build a team that turns a daunting task into a records management program that is an ongoing success.
About the Speaker:
Sahar Arafat-Ray, Government Information Analyst for the Texas State Library and Archives, State and Local Records Management Division. Her previous experience in archive work was at the National Archives and Records Administration in Fort Worth. She has also done volunteer work at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History and The Austin History Center. She also writes for the Texas Record, a blog about records management in Texas for state and local governments.
Location: This event is hybrid. The in-person option will be at the Austin Energy Headquarters (4815 Mueller Blvd., Austin, TX 78723. Free parking in the Austin Energy garage, see map below. The virtual option will be via Webex (virtual meeting info will be sent by end of day November 14, 2025 to those registered for the virtual option).
