The President is the principal executive officer of the Austin ARMA Chapter.  In general, they supervise and control all business and affairs of the chapter.  They also preside at all meetings of the members and the board.  President serves a two year term after which they become the Immediate Past President.  This is typically a two year term.

In the absence or inability of the President to serve, the President-Elect performs the duties of the President.  The President-Elect also completes other tasks as prescribed by the Board of Directors.  This is typically a two year term.

The Past President trains and supports the current President.  When the individual’s term as a President has expired, they will be invited to remain on the Board ex officio as the Immediate Past President until they are succeeded by the next Immediate Past President.



The Austin ARMA Chapter Secretary records the proceedings of the Board meetings, sees that all notices are duly given in accordance with the provisions of the chapter’s bylaws.  In the event the Historian position is not filled, the Secretary will be the custodian of the chapter records.  This position is appointed by the Board.  This is typically a two year term position.

The Treasurer is responsible for advising and monitoring all funds and securities of the Austin ARMA Chapter, under the direction of the Board.  The Treasurer provides oversight of the annual budget, chairs the Financial Planning Committee and, in general, performs all of the duties of Treasurer and such other duties as from time to time may be assigned by the President or by the Board.  The Treasurer serves a two year term.

The Publicity Chair is responsible for publicizing Chapter events & activities and monitors/manages the Chapter Email account.  The Publicity Chair is responsible for timely production and distribution of Chapter announcements, mailings and any additional communication distribution.  The Publicity Chair also works in conjunction with the Web-Masters to create and/or manage the Chapter Social Media sites. This is typically a two year term position.

The Newsletter Editor is responsible for the timely production of the Chapter newsletter and serves as the point of contact for submissions to the newsletter.  The Newsletter Editor coordinates with the Publicity Chair and Webmaster Co-Chairs to distribute each issue of the newsletter.  This is typically a two year term position.

The Historian is responsible for maintaining the Chapter archives and maintaining the Chapter Retention Schedule.   The Historian may be requested to perform other duties assigned by the President and/or the Board, as needed.  This is typically a two year term position.







Education

The Education Co-Chairs are responsible to coordinate and make arrangements for speakers, facilities, announcements and anything additional required to provide a series of educational workshops on Records & Information Management / Information Governance topics.  The Education Co-Chairs act as liaisons to the Educational Development Committee of the Association (Bylaws Rev. 6/2019).  These are typically two year term positions.

The Business Partner Liaison is responsible for marketing the benefits of partnering with the chapter to affiliated business partners, coordinating with the Treasurere for invoicing business partners, coordinating business partner sponsorships for all chapter activities, and performing other duties as may be requested by the President and/or the Board. (Bylaws Rev. 6/2019). These are typically two year term positions.

The Web-Master Co-Chairs are responsible for creating and/or maintaining the Chapter's website, to include content and graphic design across the site.  The Web-Master Co-Chairs coordinate with the Board to ensure that activities and events are highlighted, important Chapter news is posted and all pages have up-to-date content.  The Web-Masters also post job listings for open positions in the field of Records & Information Management / Information Governance as requested through the Job Listings request form.  The Web-Masters work in conjunction with the Publicity Chair to create and/or manage the Chapter Social Media sites.  The Web-Masters The Web-Master Co-Chairs complete other tasks as needed.  These are typically two year term positions.

CRM Liaison

The ICRM Liaison serves as a point of contact for Chapter members interested in earning the CRM designation and coordinates training sessions and/or study groups for those planning to test.  The ICRM Liaison acts as the Chapter liaison to the ICRM and is responsible for tracking current ICRM developments such as testing requirements and/or testing dates and distributing ICRM information to the Chapter and those interested in earning the ICRM designation.  The ICRM Liaison is required to be a member in good standing with the ICRM or is able to coordinate directly with a good standing Chapter Member that is also a good standing member of the ICRM to complete these responsibilities.  This is typically a two year term position.
