The ARMA SW Region is hosting a free virtual meeting open to all. 

On Wednesday, February 9, we will host the program "Are You Managing Your Company’s Greatest Asset?" recorded by our speaker William Basinger, CRM.  The webinar will include Live Chat with the speaker and participants.  Following the program, we will break into small groups for networking and discussion.

Topic:                   Are You Managing Your Company’s Greatest Asset?

Description:       A company’s most important asset is information.  Information Management is a strategic initiative that helps support an efficient and productive working environment and focuses on saving money and limiting liability.  During the presentation, we will discuss the structure of Information Governance and how it can help support a robust Information Management initiative.  The topic will cover the Generally Accepted Recordkeeping Principles (the Principles) released by ARMA International and the aspects of an effective Records and Information Management program.  The Principles illustrate eight areas necessary for optimum information governance. 

Speaker Bio:       William Basinger, CRM.  William graduated in 1998 with a BA from St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX.  He spent 7 years as a contracts administration in telecommunications before joining the Records Management ranks in 2007 where he managed an in-house records center at AT&T Wi-Fi Services.  William spent 11 years at BBVA USA where he started managing vendor consolidation, retention schedule creation, and training development. He rose to VP for the Information Lifecycle Management team there, and led the team to implement an electronic information management solution to organize and manage the structured and unstructured data across the company’s footprint.  Today he has accepted a position at PNC as their Program Manager for eRecords.

William has been an active member of ARMA since 2007.  He has served on the Austin ARMA Board as Newsletter Editor, WebMaster Co Chair, Vice President, President and Immediate Past President.  He is currently a Chapter Advisor on the Southwest Region leadership team for Governance and Operations.  He achieved his CRM in Mar of 2016 and received his certificate in Understanding the Generally Accepted Record Keeping Principles (the Principles) in 2014.
